Smart Move is a pioneering research lab, located at the University of the Aegean in Syros, performing multidisciplinary & interdisciplinary research dealing with both the theoretical and practical aspects of smart mobility and intelligent transportation systems.
Smart Mobility
Transportation systems are invariably complex, and their complexity arises from many sources. Transportation systems can involve humans, vehicles, shipments, information technology, and the physical infrastructure, all interacting in complex ways.
Improved planning, design, and the control of future transportation systems requires conducting both basic and applied research to expand the knowledge base on transportation.
Our Mission
The overall mission is to advance the way we, and our things, get to places, through innovative technologies, harnessing the power of informatics and robotics.
The lab was founded with two main objectives: to develop tools that improve transportation systems of all kinds, and to train the next generation of professionals in this direction.
Our main focus is on the holistic design and analysis of information technology as it is applied to transportation systems.
Intelligent transportation systems (ITS) are defined as those systems utilizing synergistic technologies and systems engineering concepts to develop and improve transportation systems of all kinds.
